Do more mushrooms appear after rain?
Yes, many mushrooms fruit after rain because moisture is one of the main triggers for a visible flush, but rainfall alone is not enough. Soil temperature, season, host trees, humidity, and how much the site dried beforehand all matter. The accurate scouting rule is that a soaking rain followed by appropriate temperatures is more useful than the rain event by itself. That is why experienced foragers track both weather and habitat rather than assuming any wet day will produce mushrooms.
